
Laura Schaffer is a documentary producer based in New York, NY.
Laura has worked on projects with Elara Pictures, Central Group, A24, Participant Media, Rough House Pictures, Little Monster Films, and others. She associate produced the Emmy-nominated and Critics Choice-winning Telemarketers (2023) with Elara for HBO. She has also worked on Debra Granik’s Conbody VS Everybody, the A24 doc series Instant Life, Amazing Live Sea Monkeys, and as a consulting producer on the upcoming feature documentary BLOWW. Recently, she has worked as a field producer on the upcoming documentary on The Meters, Fire in the Bayou, and is currently producing a project with Hotel.
As a film researcher, she worked on Josh Safdie’s Oscar-nominated Marty Supreme (2025) from Central and A24 and has recently done research for Sean Durkin’s upcoming narrative feature, Deep Cuts, as well as Jeremy Saulnier’s October – both from Central and A24. She is currently archival producing an upcoming narrative film from Rian Johnson’s T-Street Productions as well as an upcoming documentary feature from Bao Nguyen. She is also working on an upcoming series for Hulu.
Previous experience includes developing and associate producing an episode of Hulu’s Taste the Nation (2021) with Part2 Pictures. The series was a recipient of a Television Academy honor as one of the most impactful television programs of the year. Prior to that, she assisted on the feature documentary The Rescue (2021) from the Oscar-winning team at Little Monster Films, as well as on the Sundance jury award-winning feature documentary The Fight (2020) and the Showtime doc series Couples Therapy (2019).
